Green Trading is a student-run high school-based program inspired by the system of carbon trading.

Our Concept

            The concept of carbon trading builds on the idea that one can do well by doing good. Thus economic incentives can be used to promote environmental preservation, just as financial gains have previously guided commensurate destruction. How does this translate to everyday people and everyday lives? In fact, everything we do and use carries a carbon footprint. A carbon value can be assigned to the car trip to the corner grocery store, to the polyethylene bottle that we discard, to the newspaper that we fail to recycle, to the plastic compact disc that we toss... Just as charity begins at home, awareness and action by all can and will make a difference.
